Busy but not moving? How to get unstuck—and build with clarity.
I saw a post on Instagram the other day that said “You’re not stuck, you’re building” and my first thought was “NO!”
You are stuck. You’re not just building. You’re not imagining it.
Builders have plans, skills, experience, and most of all, a complete plan of what the project will look like in the end. If they showed up to the job site and just started putting bricks together and claimed they weren’t stuck, they were “building”, they’d be out of there in no time.

If you are trying to build your art career without a plan, then yes, you are 100% stuck.

Hi, I’m Kelly, an artist and illustrator who helps solopreneurs and creative entrepreneurs get unstuck when they know they’re capable of more but can’t figure out how to get there.
There are so many solopreneurs I know who feel like they’re working hard but can’t figure out why they’re not getting where they want to go. Something feels off, like they’re missing a piece of the puzzle they can’t quite put their finger on.
Maybe you’ve hit a plateau and can’t figure out how to break through to the next level. Or you have so many different ideas and directions you could go that you’re paralyzed by all the options and end up not making real progress on any of them.
When you’re in that space where you know you’re capable of more but you can’t see the path to get there, it’s easy to just keep doing more of what you’re already doing and hope something will eventually click. Maybe you’re posting consistently on social media but not getting clients. Or you’re creating art piece after art piece but can’t figure out how to turn that into a business that pays the bills.
It’s exhausting to wonder what you’re missing while watching everyone else reach their goals.
But here’s the thing: busywork isn’t the same as momentum. Being busy doesn’t mean you’re building something meaningful. And all that effort you’re putting in? It’s not wasted. You just need to point it in the right direction.
The problem is that you don’t have the clarity you need.
This is exactly the kind of situation where I love to help people get clarity. What I’m really good at is helping you step back from all the noise and figure out what you’re actually trying to build, then work backwards to create a clear path to get there.
Let me give you an example of how my brain works.

When I started to teach myself art, I knew the advice of “just draw every day and your style will appear” was not going to work. The thought of “just keep drawing” felt a lot like someone teaching me darts by saying “close your eyes and throw. Eventually you’ll hit a bullseye.”
If it doesn’t work for darts, why would it work for art?
So instead, I first figured out what dream art style I was going for. Then, I reverse-engineered it by studying what the best art programs taught and filtering that through what I actually wanted to create. Some skills were universal foundations I needed first. Others built logically from there.
Then, I took the courses and resources I did have access to (because I wasn’t going to be going to art school) and lined them up to fit what I wanted to learn.
It wasn’t long before people were commenting on how fast my art skills had grown. It was amazing!
But there was no magic to it. There was a plan, though.
That same approach, getting crystal clear on what you actually want, then working backwards to figure out the logical steps, is what I want to help you do too.

We’ll shape your dream art career and figure out what your next 90 days should look like. Then I’ll show you how to turn that into a plan you can get moving on. You’ll be leaving with your next 10 days figured out so that you can take the next, best right step for your business.
Here’s exactly what you’ll walk away with:
- A clear picture of what your dream art business actually looks like
- One specific 90-day milestone that moves you toward that dream
- A simple 10-day action plan with your first steps mapped out
- The confidence to stop second-guessing and start moving
I don’t want to add more tasks to your to-do list. I want to make sure that the only tasks on the list right now are the ones that are going to move you towards your goal.

The 10-Day Momentum Map is my bonus to you when you join Leverage Your Art through my link.
